Hi, my friend,
What's the word? It's been months since I moved to the Bahamas silently. If you ask me, everything is way too complicated. Let me tell you about it.
The Bahamas is a heaven on earth with its breathtaking landscapes and generous ocean. I moved here because of my new job. Well, money is good here. I wonder why people are leaving this beautiful place tho... They say it's because of poor working conditions and a high rate of emigration. Definitely agreed!
So you were going to make me pick between my country and the Bahamas right? My country, Turkey, is where I would prefer to live. I know I said this place is pretty. Nevertheless, everything changed a little. Nowadays, the ocean has reached a new peak altitude. I'm afraid it can flood my freshly bought home. Not even mentioning the plastic sheet that overlaps the beauty of the blue. You will obtain plastic bottles whenever you start fishing. Bon Appetite!
If you are to visit me, bring a suitable charger with you. Because if your phone dies, you will miss the chance of taking photos of colorful sunsets. And I just know we would be watching the city from a cliff 24/7. But we cannot do that anymore. Carbon dioxide gas that is choking the city can poison us! There have been a few cases in the capital, unfortunately…
I know the Bahamas is unlike what you expected it to be. You can warn the people who harm nature too. However, will it be as efficient as shutting down chemical factories? We receive toxic barrels from the beach every day which poison the fish, the ocean, the island, and us. We need the oceanic feeling again. We need to change the regime completely. We need a savior, we need a leader of a new regime.
I know I wrote too much again. Well, let me let you go. So you can have your time to book a flight and see me in real life. But don't forget to bring fresh water with you as our river has died. Whatever, see you!
Yours truly,
Arif Emre Özden
